SCHOOL SANITATION

Children have rights to basic facilities such as access to toilets at schools and clean surroundings. Sanitaiton at shcools can create an enabling environment which secures child’s dignity, safety, health and attendance in classes. Under the program TOILET CHANGES LIVES, Mahita has provided sanitation facilities to 30 government schools reaching more than 8000 children from Rangareddy & Hyderabad districts. It focuses on strengthening WASH awareness of the direct beneficiaries to ensure healthy behaviour is practiced all the time. Intervention is also focised on ensuring repair and maintenance of these toilets for its regular use.
